Most of her plays are set in her hometown and tell the stories of women's lives amid the social and political tumult of Northern Ireland. Reid has written seven plays that have been performed in Northern Ireland, England, and New York. In addition, she wrote several radio plays in the late 1980s. Reid was awarded the Ulster Television Drama award in 1980 for <title>Did You Hear the One about the Irishman . . . ?</title>, the Thames Television Playwriting award in 1983 for <title>Tea in a China Cup</title>, the George Devine Award in 1986 for <title>The Belle of Belfast City</title>, and the Giles Cooper Award in 1986 for <title>The Last of a Dyin' Race</title>.</p></note></p><p><bibref>"Christina Reid."
