Located in the Morris Library, on the eastern side of the Lower Level, the Instructional Media Collection Department collects, houses, and maintains audiovisual materials within the University of Delaware Library, including over 18,000 programs in VHS, DVD, and other legacy formats. The video and film collection is for use primarily in support of classroom teaching, curriculum, and research by University of Delaware faculty, students, and staff. The Instructional Media Collection Department provides circulation services as well as viewing and listening facilities to assist University of Delaware students, faculty, and staff in utilizing the audiovisual materials in the Library collection. Thirty individual viewing carrels are located within the Department. It also provides a film and video scheduling service for University of Delaware faculty, staff, and graduate teaching assistants for use in regularly scheduled University classes and for authorized programmatic functions. Spring / Summer Intersession, May 31 - June 8, 2008
The video and film collection is available for viewing in Instructional Media audiovisual carrels by users with University of Delaware ID cards, Delaware State University ID cards, Delaware Technical and Community College ID cards, or University of Delaware Library Public Borrower Cards. For information about checking media materials out of the Library, please see Circulation and Scheduling Policies.
Please note: The Student Multimedia Design Center, a new state-of-the-art multimedia facility, is located adjacent to the Instructional Media Collection Department and is open to University of Delaware students, faculty, and staff.
