He is the father of poet W. B. (William Butler) Yeats and painter Jack B. Yeats.  John Butler Yeats' daughters were also literary.   Susan Mary Yeats [Lily] and Elizabeth Corbet [Lollie, Lolly] Yeats founded [with  Evelyn Gleeson] the Dun Emer Press (later the Cuala Press).  John Butler Yeats was a friend of Irish painter Hugh Lane.  John Butler Yeats has also written essays and reviews.</p></note></p><p><bibref>Hogan, Robert,
