<scopecontent encodinganalog="520"> <head>Scope and Content Note</head> <p><note><p>This collection consists of three autograph letters signed by E. Œ. (Edith Œnone) Somerville along with one photograph.  One letter (along with an envelope) dated November 21, 1921 is addressed to Glen Walton Blodgett.  The letter includes a tipped-on signature of Somerville's recently-deceased cousin and collaborator Violet Martin.  Somerville mentions that their  "... names have ever appeared together ... ."  Another letter to an unidentified individual is dated October 19,  1932.      A third letter dated February 27, 1942 is addressed to Mr. Gore.  She  mentions "... repairing the damage that Hitler had inflicted on me ... ."  This letter includes a photograph of a memorial to Somerville.</p></note></p> </scopecontent> <controlaccess>
