Prominent Delaware historian Henry Clay Reed was a longtime faculty member at the University of Delaware.

The Henry Clay Reed papers consists of 8 linear feet of material dating from 1925 to 1975. The collection contains personal papers, correspondence, research notes, clippings, and files, including material pertaining to his books: A Bibliography of Delaware through 1960; The Court Records of the Delaware Valley; Delaware: a History of the First State; and A History of Swedish Colonial Expansion.
