Irish novelist, playwright, and drama critic Brinsley MacNamara (1890–1963) is a pseudonym for John Weldon. Some of MacNamara's plays were staged at the Abbey Theatre, where he had once acted and later became a board member.

This collection consists of two typescripts written by Brinsley MacNamara. One is a speech on the "Fiftieth Anniversary of the Opening of the Abbey Theatre - 26/12/54."
