Irish novelist and poet Katharine Tynan (1861–1931) was a major writer of the Irish Literary Renaissance who created over one hundred literary works in a variety of genres.

This collection consists of an autograph letter signed by Katharine Hinkson [Tynan] to Elkin Mathews requesting his opinion on the Tynan book title A Lover's Breast-Knot. Tynan also thanks Mathews for a "Sligo valentine" and books.
