William John Cavendish Clifford was a crewman aboard the HMS Undaunted during its military tour from Portsmouth, Great Britain, to ports such as St. Helena and Sierra Leone, from November 3, 1830, to February 10, 1834. The captain of the vessel was Edward Harvey, Esquire.

William John Cavendish Clifford was a crewman aboard the HMS Undaunted during its military tour from Portsmouth, Great Britain, to ports such as St. Helena and Sierra Leone, from November 3, 1830, to February 10, 1834. The captain of the vessel was Edward Harvey, Esquire. The logbook covers weather and navigational information as well as information about crew duties and punishments for infractions of the rules (such as drunkenness).
The journal is one leather bound volume, circa 120 pages with entries in ink. A half of a ship was drawn on the first page of the logbook, rendered in ink and pencil.
