The "barque" [bark] Jenny Pitts , captained by Hiram Hall, traveled from Galway, Ireland, around Cape Horn to Chincha Island, Peru. In Peru the ship took on a cargo of guano to be sold as fertilizer.
The G. W. Blunt White Library at Mystic Seaport has records of registry for the Jenny Pitts from 1858 through 1882.

Partial ship's log kept by a crew member aboard the bark Jenny Pitts describing the voyage from Galway, Ireland, to Chincha Island, Peru, between April 16, 1862, and November 10, 1862. The log primarily contains navigational data, weather reports, and notes about the health of the crew.
The logbook is a bound volume, circa 150 pages, of which 86 pages have ink entries. A partial list of the crew appears under the date November 3, 1862.
