Biographical Note

Herbert Dorn was born in Germany, and lived in Switzerland and Cuba before immigrating to America and becoming an American citizen. Dorn was an economist specializing in matters of international trade and law, who held a number of professional positions in several countries before joining the University of Delaware faculty as a Research Professor of Economics and the Chairman of the Institute for Inter-American Study and Research.


Scope and Content Note

The Herbert Dorn Papers consists of 5 linear feet of material dating from 1900 to 1955. The collection contains material relating to his various professional interests and activities, and includes notebooks, lecture notes, research files, books, manuscripts, clippings, and posters. Materials are in German and English.
