          Over twenty-five undated letters from Coleman to Holms.  Some of the letters are
          incomplete.  Also includes typescript copies of Coleman's poems, "A Torrent in
          the Alps" and "The Resistance."

          Letter from Coleman to Hopkinson (1936) regarding his story "I Have Been
          Drowned," with a photocopy of the story as it appeared in New Writing 3 in 1937.

          Eight letters from Williamson to Coleman.  Also includes the manuscripts musical
          scores written by Williamson for "Mass" and "Meditations," both of which are
          inscribed to Coleman by Williamson.  The words for "Meditations" are from three
          poems written by Coleman.  Also includes the program for a performance of
          "Meditations" in 1956 by The Elizabethan Singers.  The musical scores have been
          removed to the oversize section.

          Typescript draft with autograph corrections by Coleman.  A note on the final page
          of the manuscript indicates that page 247 is missing.

     F1680     Bound notebook, 1933-1936
          Contain Coleman's initial ideas, outlines, notes, and character sketches for her
          novel Tygon.  Begun in October 1933 in London, the notebook also provides a
          daily accounting of her writing in 1935-1936 (in New York, Hartford, and
          London).  The first page bears the notation "I wish, in the event of my death, this
          notebook to be given to Antonia White.  Emily Coleman....March 26, 1936." 
          Also includes three clippings, a small note regarding John Holms, a telegram from
          Peter Hoare, and several poems.  The poems are "Proverbs of Sainthood and
          Imagination," "The New-Let Grave" (with correction by Holms), "The Black
          Poplar," and three untitled poems.

          as other poems, notes on her activities or thoughts, and several pages regarding
          Edwin Muir's work.  One page includes a note on what she had done "since John
          died Feb 20, 1935."  Poems include several versions of "The Black Poplar," "The
          Towers of Ely," "The Resurrection," and two untitled poems.

          Gray bound ledger with the following notes on the cover: "Emily Scarborough -
          Arizona" and "Vol. I. Notebook for The Cremation The Windmill Sonnets on the
          Life of X [Christ]."  See Box 82 F665 for Volume II of this notebook.  Also
          includes other poems written by Coleman, a schedule for caring for the lawns and
          plants at her home, and a five-page essay titled "A Study of Nightwood - Novel by
          Djuna Barnes," dated May 1942.  In addition to the autograph poems (with
          revisions) recorded in the ledger, seven typescript sonnets (all part of "Sonnets
          from the Life of Christ") are laid in.  The poems included in the ledger are:

          Includes an incomplete copy of Wild Places (Vol. 1 #1, Spring 1976) published by
          Joseph Geraci.  The issue was dedicated to Emily Coleman and includes some of
          her poems.  The folder also includes an ink sketch of Coleman by Kathleen Arum,
          a 1962 version of "Dialogue between Jesus Christ and Gerard Hopkins," an
          untitled short story about Claude and Isabel Batchelor, and typescript copies of a
          number of Coleman's poems.  The poems are:
