+ Series I.C.16. -- Scope and Content Note
+ Series I.C.16. -- Contents List

Extent: .5 linear ft.

Box: 45

Contents: Legislation, correspondence, reports, newspaper articles.

Arrangement: Alphabetically by topic.

This subseries contains files and legislation relating to the Omnibus Anti-Drug Bill of 1986, "cop killer" bullets, and gun control, including extensive documentation on the Federal Firearms Reform Act of 1986. In additional to topical content, this subseries illustrates well the work of a legislative assistant in compiling and disseminating issue information for Congressman Carper, providing pros and cons to amendments and bills. Correspondence from Carper to Attorney General William Barr and President George Bush conveys disbelief over the outcome of the 1992 Rodney King beating trial in Los Angeles and its aftermath of civil unrest (F701).
