              Series IV.9 L. Biddle
The following subseries contains the papers of either Louis or Lynford Biddle.
Because the brothers shared a residence for some time and have the same initials,
it is difficult to determine which individual is the addressee. Oftentimes, the
correspondence addresses "L. Biddle," "the Messrs Biddle," or begins "Dear Sir."
