Change in delivery of Library video and film scheduled for class instruction
The University of Delaware Library's extensive collection of videos and films in the Instructional Media Collection Department was used more than 23,000 times by UD faculty, staff and students in 2008/2009.
Delivery of video and film to designated UD campus locations was a service provided by another University department and not the Library. Moreover, delivered items constituted less than 4% of the total 23,000 uses of videos and films. Most faculty and instructors picked up videos and films in the Library in person.
The delivery service is now an expense that it is necessary to eliminate.
Effective January 4, 2010, delivery of videos and films scheduled for classes will cease, and instead all videos and films scheduled for classes may be picked up at the Instructional Media Collection service desk in the Morris Library.
Items may still be scheduled in advance by faculty with the Library to insure availability. Delivery of video and film to Wilmington and southern Delaware UD locations will continue.
