Locating Items by Call Number


Call numbers begin with one or two capital letters followed by a series of numbers. Call numbers are assigned by subject and are printed on a label on the item.

To find a particular item on the shelves of the Library, you must look up its call number in DELCAT. Once you find the call number you need in DELCAT, you may locate the item in the Library.

For example, after you search DELCAT for a book and find that its call number is PS 3521 .E375 B62, you would use the call number to locate the book on the shelves of the Library.
