The Student Multimedia Design Center is designed to meet the current and future needs of the increasing number of classes which involve creation of multimedia projects and presentations as a course requirement. The Center offers space for practicing presentations and video multimedia equipment to use individually or in collaborative groups.

Opened in February 2007 and located in the University of Delaware Morris Library, the Center is available for University of Delaware students, faculty, and staff use. This state-of-the-art facility with its focus on multimedia creation is the largest such facility in an academic research library in the nation.

Offering over 80 workstations, the Student Multimedia Design Center includes 6 studios, 2 hands-on instruction rooms, and clusters of computers throughout an open area.

At the Student Multimedia Design Center one can:

  • Create a web site with multimedia elements
  • Create video, graphics, and narration to make your PowerPoint presentation come alive
  • Work on group projects with other students
  • Practice your presentation skills in a studio
  • Create a custom sound track
  • Print in color or black and white
  • Borrow multimedia equipment such as:
    • video and photo cameras
    • microphones
    • light kits
    • external hard drives
  • and more!
